My guilt was as great as a mountain,
My heart was as dark as could be;
For years I had strayed, and wandered away,
I thought there was no hope for me.

Chorus:

My guilt was as great as a mountain,
His blood flowed out free like a fountain,
And washed it away, on that glorious day,
When I rested my soul on His word.

1. 'Twas a lost and lonely night,
We went out to make it right;
Got some spices and some smells,
Wrap Him up so you can’t tell.
With the tomb just open wide,
We stooped down and went inside;
Glowing man beside His bed -
And just now heard what he said:

CHORUS:
“He's not here! He's not here!
So get up and wipe those tears;
He stayed here for three days,
Then He up and walked away.
If you really want to see,
Head on down to Galilee;
Those spices smell real nice,
but He's not here!”

2. If you're lost and lonely too,
I have awesome news for you;
T'was for you He bled and died,
Spent those three long days inside.
When the Father raised the Son,
It proved all the work was done;
Trust and thank Him now today,
And go singing on your way!
